Dr. John Ravizza is a native of San Jose, California. He is a graduate of Bellarmine College Preparatory and Santa Clara University. He received his teacher certification in secondary education from the University of San Diego and a Master's degree in Educational Administration from Boston College. In 2010, he received a Doctorate in Leadership for the Advancement of Learning and Service from Cardinal Stritch University in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
John has experience teaching at the elementary, middle and high school levels. Prior to coming to Notre Dame, he spent five years working in the Teacher Education program at St. Norbert College, including one year as the Interim Director of the Center for Adaptive Education and Assistive Technology.
John's wife, Dr. Bridget Burke Ravizza, is an Assistant Professor of Religious Studies at St. Norbert College. John, Bridget and their three children are members of Old St. Joseph Parish in De Pere.
John began at Notre Dame in 2006. He seeks to work with students, parents, teachers, staff and administrators to develop an educational community that is informed by gospel values and that meets the needs of all students.
