FINE ARTS

Department Mission: Our mission is to provide a program, which enables students to perceive, to participate in and respond to the sensitive qualities of the arts.

1. To promote the development of artistic skills in each individual students.

1. Students are provided with instruction in the skills necessary for creative self-expression.
2. Students are provided with varied and challenging materials in order to foster creative development. 

2. To promote the appreciation of the various fields of artistic studies

1. Students will gain an understanding of the creative process through varied artistic experiences.
2. Students will develop an aesthetic awareness and appreciation  

3. To expose students to various artistic mediums.

1. Students will learn about careers related to the arts and are encouraged to explore possible career choices. 

4. To offer the opportunity to participate in a chosen artistic medium.
   1. Students will take part in opportunities in and out of school to participate in the arts for personal achievement and satisfaction. 

5. To foster cognitive understanding of artistic concepts.
   1. Students will relate to, respond to, and be able to creatively analyze various styles and mediums through the study of the history of the Fine Arts.
