NDA Serves is Notre Dame Academy’s annual day of service. This year, NDA Serves 2017 will take place on Thursday, April 20, 2017. On this day, all NDA students, faculty and staff will participate in a day of community service.

To explain to the families who are new to the Notre Dame community, NDA Serves is considered a school day, with attendance taken. It is a school-wide opportunity for all students to learn about the needs of our local community. Among the service sites are local parishes and schools, area nursing homes, the Salvation Army, Paul’s Pantry and Bay Beach Wildlife Sanctuary. Over 70 sites have requested assistance from Notre Dame. Most service sites request service teams for a 3 hour commitment between 8:00 AM and 12:00 PM.

In order to make this event successful, we need your assistance. Please consider joining us in our day of service. All NDA parents have the opportunity to sign up to serve side-by-side with their student or chaperone at a different site of choice. It provides an opportunity to be a role model, get to know your child’s friends or other students and parents, as well as assist in our mission of commitment to service. Leading by example is one of the most effective ways of demonstrating our Christian values, and your presence will set a powerful example for your student, their peers and the community.

For your convenience, we have placed a description of service sites below. Please review the sites and discuss the choices with your student before Sign-Up Day, which is Tuesday, March 7, 2017. All students will select a service site during their lunch period. Keep in mind that students and families are responsible for arranging transportation to and from the sites. The online listing should assist you and your student as you discuss selecting a site with them.

If you are available to join us for NDA Serves 2017, or if you have any questions regarding this day, please contact Sarah Oettinger at soettinger@notredameacademy.com or (920) 429-6101.
