To top off an undefeated season, the girls tennis team is state bound! The team became the conference champion last week following wins over Pulaski and Green Bay Southwest. The team also won the sectional title on October 4 earning the student-athletes a trip to state the weekend of October 20.
Junior girls tennis player Julia Slusarek, junior Grace Purcell, and doubles team Kennedy Morgan/Madeline Darling are also state bound as individuals, and will compete the weekend of October 13 in Madison. Remaining undefeated at sectionals was freshman Rachel Van Hefty and doubles team Emma Del Frate/Emily Agen.
State Result (Individual): Slusarek, Purcell, and Morgan/Darling each fell in the first round of the state tournament.
State Result (Team): The team fell to top seed Homestead by a score of 1-6 with Purcell taking home the sole victory.
Last month, the girls golf team became the conference champion for the 12th time in 14 years. The team placed fourth at sectionals, and is sending senior Emily Conard to state as an individual.
State Result: Conard placed 54th at the state tournament. She was honored to be the first one to tee off Monday morning of the tournament.
