Madeline Laaksonen, NDA 2019, is Triton of the Week for the week of March 19, 2019. She received early acceptance into St. Norbert College as a result of her excellence in academics and her deep involvement within the school community.
Madeline has continued to excel in her leadership role as stage manager of this year's musical and spring play. Andrea Gilson, NDA English teacher and musical director, said, "Madeline demonstrates what being a leader is all about. She leads in a humble and graceful fashion, and consistently goes above and beyond in her efforts."
Further, Gilson said, "From her involvement in student government to stage manager of the musical, Madeline works tirelessly to make our events and productions shine. Madeline is also an exceptional student and a gifted writer and orator."
Involved in student government, the student ambassador group, and German Club all four years of her high school career, she also helped the Destination Imagination team place 6th at the global competition during her sophomore year.

In the classroom, Madeline puts great focus on academics, earning her a spot in the National Honor Society and National English Honor Society.
Gilson concluded, "Madeline Laaksonen. She is a class act. She is a passionate, driven, thoughtful, and hardworking individual who deserves to be Triton of the Week."
