Reverend Dane J. Radecki, O. Praem., chosen to lead Catholic High School
The Notre Dame de la Baie Academy Corporate Members announced that effective March 15, 2005, Reverend Dane Radecki, O. Praem. will assume the position of president for the school. Radecki, who served as the institution's first president, returns to act as Notre Dame's chief executive officer, spiritual leader and public spokesperson to the community.
Father Radecki replaces Deacon Timothy G. Reilly who became the Diocesan Director of Administration for the Diocese of Green Bay on January 1, 2005.
The Most Rev. David A. Zubik, Bishop of the Green Bay Diocese and the President of the Corporate Board of NDA said, "Fr. Radecki is an exceptional administrator and well known in the Green Bay community. He is blessed with the ability to build positive relationships with pastors, the diocese, parents, students, faculty, staff, administration, and the supporters of Notre Dame. I am thrilled by the recommendation of the Search Committee and for the confirmation of his appointment by both the Board of Education and the Corporate Board of NDA and especially by Abbot Gary Neville, Abbot of the Norbertine Community."
Radecki, a Norbertine priest, joined the Order in 1968 and was ordained in 1977. Radecki holds a Master of Divinity, a Master of Science in Administration, and a Doctorate in Education. During his time away from Notre Dame, Radecki worked in the Office of Catholic Education for the Archdiocese of Chicago (1995-1997) and at St. Norbert College (1997-present), with his most recent position being Vice President for Mission and Heritage.
In accepting the position of Notre Dame president Radecki says, "I feel honored to be invited to work in a faith-filled school with a team of caring, dedicated professionals. I share their commitment to excellence and I will work to assure that students of all cultures, abilities, faiths and incomes are welcome at Notre Dame Academy."
Father Jay Fostner, O. Praem., Chair of the Notre Dame Academy Board of Education states, "Father Dane has spent more than 21 years ministering in Catholic secondary education. He strongly believes in the mission of Notre Dame, and as one of the school's spiritual leaders, will provide the vision and guidance so that Notre Dame continues to grow in faith and community."
Radecki's responsibilities as president are to model spiritual leadership to the Notre Dame Academy community; lead the school's institutional advancement initiatives; work closely with the principal, associate principal, and directors related to school administration; serve as the direct liaison to the Board of Education and Corporate Members; and foster community relations.
Notre Dame Academy is one of the largest Catholic high schools in Wisconsin, currently enrolling 741 students. It is fully accredited by the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools and is a member of the National Catholic Educational Association. Notre Dame offers a comprehensive college preparatory curriculum with 95 percent of its graduates attending post-secondary institutions. It is supported by the Diocese of Green Bay, the Norbertine Order, the Sisters of St. Joseph of Carondelet, the Catholic High School Foundation, the Notre Dame Academy Foundation, vibrant parent organizations and over 17,000 alumni.
