Albert Yanez named Triton of the Week

Albert Yanez, NDA 2020, is Triton of the Week for the week of Sept. 23, 2019.

"I think kids gravitate towards him because he's not judgmental," School Counselor Jill Zamzow-Gerl said. "Albert just takes other kids as they are and is willing to talk to anybody and interact with anyone, which is a good example for everybody else."

Yanez said he enjoys lifting the spirits of others around him, much like how "a high tide lifts all boats."

He takes pride in being one of NDA's biggest fans and regularly attending different sporting events to cheer on his peers.

"Albert ALWAYS has a smile on his face and it's contagious!," Spanish Teacher Amy Stover said. "He has some struggles academically, but he works hard to overcome them.  His positive attitude and work ethic will serve him well in the future."

Learning Resource Specialist Cassidy McGowan added, "What separates Albert is his smile and positive attitude towards all things, including school. He is polite, respectful and embodies the core values of Notre Dame Academy.

"Albert is the type of person who has fun, but not at the expense of others. He is a good role model for other students, especially new students to Notre Dame."
