Bennett Schmitz, NDA 2020, is Triton of the Week for the week of April 22, 2019.

"Bennett will succeed in the future because he has strong work habits and is a smart young man," said John Dunlap, NDA math teacher. "With his strong work ethic and his friendliness with many students, Bennett demonstrates what an NDA student should be."

Schmitz is a member of the NDA tennis team and is the head builder of the robotics team. Helping NDA pave the way for robotics at the Northeast Wisconsin VRC Tournament at Oconto Falls High School earlier this semester, Schmitz and his team placed ninth out of 34 teams.

He is a problem-solver in the classroom and in the real world. He is a dedicated member of the yearbook staff as he works with the team to create the best yearbook possible for the 2018-19 school year.

His dedication to the community doesn't stop at NDA, as he recently became an Eagle Scout. Dunlap said, "This is just another example of how determined and dedicated he is."

Finally, Schmitz is involved in Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) of Brown County, a volunteer-based non-profit that provides a voice for abused and neglected children, through his Eagle Scout project, and with his family. He and his family attend St. John the Baptist Church where Schmitz is an usher.
