Capomaccio signs NLI with University of Minnesota

Notre Dame Academy senior Caden Capomaccio signed a National Letter of Intent Friday with the University of Minnesota baseball team.

“You could just tell when you first watched Caden pitch that he was going to be special,” said NDA baseball coach Jared Barker in recalling the first time he saw Capomaccio pitch in grade school.

Capomaccio made the varsity rotation as a freshman and was an unanimous choice in earning first team all-Fox River Classic Conference his junior season.

The right-handed pitcher also was named first team all-North East District and received honorable mention all-state from the Wisconsin Baseball Coaches Association after going 5-0 with a 0.98 ERA, throwing 64 strikeouts to 16 walks.

Capomaccio has thrown a fastball of 93 miles per hour in earning an opportunity on the mound with an NCAA Division I program.
