Cathy Baeten is Triton of the Week
Cathy Baeten, NDA 2020, is Triton of the Week for the week of November 26, 2018.
"Cathy is a strong leader who sets a positive example for younger students. She encourages students to get involved and has organized our homeroom's participation in community service, such as contributing to the Give-a-Gift campaign," said Melanie Bradshaw, NDA art teacher and Baeten's nominating teacher.

Baeten's heart for the community showed through specifically around Veterans Day as she and Charles Kippley played Taps at the NDA convocation ceremony and the annual Schreiber Foods Veterans Day ceremony. Further, she is an alumna of the Junior National Young Leaders Conference in Washington D.C., along with the Greater Green Bay Teen Leadership Program.
She is a dedicated member of various bands at NDA with which she recently performed in the Green Bay Holiday Parade. She is a member of ASTRA, Sting Cancer, and the Philosophical Society, and she works as a peer model at Communication Pathways Speech Therapy.
Bradshaw concluded, "Cathy's sunny personality brings joy and life to my homeroom. The combination of her affable nature and strong leadership skills allows her to form relationships with ease. She is one of the first students I met from NDA and she instantly made me feel welcome. She does an excellent job of including all students, making sure that our homeroom feels like a community."
