Community Masking Update

Dear NDA Community,

In accordance with the protocols established by Notre Dame Academy to mitigate the spread of COVID-19, if the community experiences 10 concurrent diagnosed cases of COVID-19, the entire community will be required to mask for two weeks.

This morning we were made aware of our 10th concurrent case. Consequently, on Tuesday, Nov. 23, through Friday, Dec. 3, all members of NDA will be required to wear a mask while in school. This includes, but is not limited to in class, in the chapel, waiting for practices, during change of class, etc. If we are below 10 cases after Dec. 3, the mask period will be over.

For students involved in athletics, they will be required to mask when not in competition on the court, ice or field. Masks are required in the weight room, in the locker room, bus trips and on the bench. During times of exertion, students are not required to mask. During this period of time, all spectators will be required to mask at athletic contests.

School Mass this Wednesday at 9:30 a.m. will still be in person. Everyone at Mass will be required to wear a mask. If you would like to join us for this Thanksgiving celebration, please know you are welcome.

This decision gives me no pleasure, however, it is important to take steps to ensure we can stay in school. As our mission states, we are focused on the common good and in situations such as this we must work as a community.

NDA Principal
