Darling signs NLI with Minnesota State-Mankato
Notre Dame Academy senior Ryan Darling signed a National Letter of Intent Monday with the Minnesota State-Mankato men’s golf team.
Darling earned first team all-Fox River Classic Conference honors as junior by recording a 38.33 nine-hole average in conference play. He has also advanced to WIAA Division 1 sectionals twice.
“He’s got great passion for life and his sport,” NDA golf coach Brian Bobinski said. “He’s got great energy always. He’s extremely talented, maybe one of the most if not top two or three naturally talented players we’ve had in 20 years, and we’ve had a lot.”
Among the summer tournaments he competed in through the Wisconsin PGA Junior Foundation, Darling finished as the runner-up at The Morgan Stanley Tour Championship in July and a junior tour event at Horseshoe Bay Golf Course in August.
Minnesota State University-Mankato is a NCAA Division II program.
Ryan is the son of Megan and Craig Darling.
