Joy Mayer to receive Teacher of Distinction award
Notre Dame Academy Science Teacher Joy Mayer was named as one of the recipients of the 2020 Teacher of Distinction award by the Greater Green Bay Chamber.
Mayer is in her 17th year at NDA and is the head of the Science Department.
“I try to do a lot of hands-on activities and really get the kids involved, so this shows that’s recognized," Mayer said. "What a good teacher tries to do is get the kids involved and interested, so it’s an honor to be recognized because there are a lot of other really good teachers that are also going to be Teachers of Distinction as well."
The full list of recipients will be announced in February.
Mayer will be recognized at the 27th annual Golden Apple Awards on April 15.
