Juan Ruacho named Triton of the Week
Juan Ruacho named Triton of the Week

Juan Ruacho decided to challenge himself by going out for cross country for the first time this year.

“He always brought 100 percent work ethic to practice and to meets,” NDA assistant cross country coach Cassidy McGowan said. “He excelled at every expectation we had as a coaching staff. He’s always lifting others up.”

For his efforts, Ruacho is Triton of the Week for the week of Oct. 21, 2019.

Ruacho, a senior, is proud to set a path for his siblings to follow. He said he will become one of the first members of his family to graduate high school.

“It’s an honor for my family,” said Ruacho, who enrolled at Notre Dame Academy as a sophomore.

“As a freshman, I wasn’t the best student. Now, I want to do something with my life. It gave me a second chance.”

Ruacho enjoys his mechanical drafting class and would like to pursue a career as an engineer. He plans to enroll at Northeast Wisconsin Technical College and then the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay.

“He’s driven,” McGowan said. “He works hard. He’s a very pleasant young man and has a very bright future.”

Although he’s excited for his next step, Ruacho isn’t looking forward to his days at NDA coming to an end.

“I told teachers I might be emotional because I’m proud of where I come from and to be a Triton,” Ruacho said.
