Karen Cendejas named Triton of the Week
Karen Cendejas named Triton of the Week

Karen Cendejas has incredible vision.

The senior's eye for detail doesn't go unnoticed among her peers.

"We play Pictionary all the time in homeroom and everyone always wants Karen on her team," Social Studies and Child Development Teacher Julie Campbell said.

"She has been an excellent homeroom leader. She is always super positive and works very hard. She's very welcoming of the new freshman into our homeroom."

For her efforts, Cendejas is our Triton of the Week for the week of Nov. 4, 2019.

Cendejas is a National Honor Society member and involved with several clubs, including Art Club, Math Club, Environmental Club and ASTRA Service Club.

In addition to her school work and extra-curricular activities, she also tutors and works at her family's restaurant.

Cendejas wants to use her artistic and design talents to pursue a career as an architect.

"I like math and art, so this would kind of combine both," Cendejas said. "I just like the idea of building a home for someone because I've moved a lot. It really makes a difference."

Cendejas has attended nine different schools, so she makes it an emphasis to ensure any newcomer to Notre Dame Academy feel at home.

"It's different than anywhere else," Cendejas said. "You pray together, and it's like a family pretty much the Notre Dame community. It's different than any other high school."
