NDA shines at state cross country meet
The cross country team produced another fine showing at the WIAA state meet on Saturday in Wisconsin Rapids.
The boys cross country team finished as the D2 state runner-up for the second consecutive year.
The squad was led by senior Reid Milton, who earned an individual medal with his eighth-place finish. Milton's time of 16 minutes, 48.6 seconds was the fastest in school history at the WIAA state meet.
The other team members included sophomore Conner Hawley (14th), senior Owen Brummel (22nd), senior Howie Gerstner (25th), senior Adam Homel (39th), freshman Isaac Nowak (46th) and freshman Federrico Auricchio (81st).
Meanwhile, junior Molly Desotell earned a trip to the state podium with a third-place finish in the Division 2 girls race.
Desotell's time of 18 minutes, 57 seconds was the best 5-kilometer time at the WIAA state meet in school history, while her place was the highest since Allie Woodward won the state championship in 2010 on a 4K course.
