Principal's Notes: Schedule & Book Pick-Up Days

We hope you had a blessed summer thus far and have found the time to relax and rejuvenate. We are looking forward to seeing you and your children soon and wanted to remind you of the following things.

First Day of School

The first day of school for freshmen and students new to NDA is Monday, Aug. 23. The first day for all students is Tuesday, Aug. 24.

Schedule and Book Pick-Up Days

This event is essential to a smooth start to the school year. We have our annual Schedule and Book Pick-Up Days on Wednesday, Aug. 11 and Thursday, Aug. 12. More information will be forthcoming later in July regarding specific details.

We encourage all families to attend the Book Pick-Up Days. However, if you are unable to attend those days, your student can pick up their textbooks and related items in the library starting at 7 a.m. on the first day of school.

Masking Update

For the remainder of summer break, masks will be optional for students on campus, including those participating in athletics and summer sports camps.

In general, people do not need to wear masks when outdoors. However, people who are not fully vaccinated should wear a mask indoors, in crowded outdoor settings or during activities that involve sustained close contact with other people who are not fully vaccinated.

As COVID-19 circumstances continue to evolve, NDA shall make appropriate alterations to its mitigation strategies and keep you informed via email.

NDA will continue to monitor the pandemic situation through the CDC, the DHS, our local health authorities and advisors in order to fashion an accurate and safe approach to the 2021-22 academic year.

Please continue to monitor your email from NDA as we near the beginning of school and share additional details.
