Schauer named Girls Volleyball coach
Lindsay Schauer has been named the varsity head coach of the Notre Dame Academy girls volleyball team.
Schauer coached club volleyball in Southeastern Wisconsin for over 10 years. This will be her second opportunity to serve as the head coach of a varsity program at the high school level.
"I'm just excited to be back in the volleyball world," said Schauer, whose family moved from Grafton to De Pere last year. "I missed an entire high school and club season when we moved, and I missed being in the gym. I know that Notre Dame is a strong program, so I'm happy to be a part of it and excited to see what we can accomplish."
The Oconto native was a three-year starter for Cardinal Stritch University in Milwaukee. She obtained a Master's degree in Sports Management in 2011.
After coaching club teams for girls ages 15-17, Schauer became the head coach for Grafton High School in 2019.
Schauer will take over the coaching reins at NDA from Ben Wolf, who resigned following 15 years with the girls volleyball team as either an assistant or head coach, including WIAA Division 2 state appearances in 2015 and 2016.
"I am very pleased to welcome Lindsay to the Notre Dame Academy family," NDA Athletic Director Matt Koenig said. "She is very passionate about volleyball and even though she has big shoes to fill, the program has been successful and she will be able to hit the ground running to elevate our program. Our hope is to continue to see our athletes grow as individuals and to see them be successful as one unit."
