Spring Sports Wrap Up

It has been a busy spring that followed a record breaking snowfall in April. Through countless practices in the gym due to the snow to competing through the immense heat at the end of May, NDA student-athletes continued to succeed through the elements.

 

Boys Tennis

NDA advanced junior Josh Jannsen and sophomore Christian Remington, 1 Doubles, to state. The duo fell in the first round to Menomonee Falls.

Leading up to this, NDA advanced five positions to the sectionals tournament: Will Schneider at 1 Singles; Myles Krzewinski at 2 Singles; JV Steckart at 3 Singles; Tommy Zakowski at 4 Singles; and Josh Janssen/Christian Remington at 1 Doubles.

At sectionals, Myles Krzewinski took 2nd place, JV Steckart took 2nd place, Tommy Zakowski took 2nd place, and Josh Janssen/Christian Remington took 3rd place. NDA finished third as a team out of 16 teams in the sectional.

Achieving all-conference honors were:

  • First Team All-Conference: 1 Doubles: Christian Remington/Josh Janssen; 3 Doubles: Joe Massabni/Ryan Schram
  • Second Team All-Conference: 1 Singles: Will Schneider; 2 Singles: Myles Krzwenski; 3 Singles: JV Steckart; 4 Singles: Tommy Zakowski

 

Track & Field

Advancing sophomore Ellie Rose, long jump, and senior Charlie Sauter, 400M Dash, to state, NDA track & field had a successful season.

Achieving all-conference honors were:

  • Second Team All-Conference: Georgia Gregoire, long jump; Lily Kabat, triple jump; Girls 800M Relay
  • Third Team All-Conference: Ellie Rose, triple jump; Charlie Sauter, 400M dash; Nick Markland, 110M hurdles & high jump; Connor Bell, pole vault; Boys 1600M Relay; Boys 3200M Relay; Girls 3200M Relay

Girls Soccer

Advancing to state after a win over Plymouth on June 15, the girls soccer team is celebrating another successful season.

Achieving all-conference honors were:

  • First Team All-Conference: Grace Shaw (player of the year), Trudy Quidzinski, Jenna Cuene
  • Second Team All-Conference: KiKi Kussow, Laken Anderson
  • Honorable Mention All-Conference: Alana Bergin

Boys Golf

For the 14th season in 15 years, the boys golf team has earned its way to state, placing second in the sectional meet. The team edged out Bay Port for the state bid. At state, the team placed 14th.

Achieving all-conference honors were:

  • First Team All-Conference: Jack Halama
  • Second Team All-Conference: Joel Meglic; Max Pallini
  • Honorable Mention All-Conference: Bergin Olson

 

Softball

Earning its first post-season regional win against Two Rivers, the softball team fell in a well fought game in the second post-season round to Seymour.

Achieving all-conference honors was:

  • Honorable Mention: Katie Peters, infield

 

Baseball

With a record of 9-7, the baseball team earned the top seed in the post-season tournament. The team fell to Clintonville in the first round of regionals by a score of 4-6.

All-conference has yet to be chosen.

 

Lacrosse

The NDA lacrosse team finished the season with a record of 7-19. With influential wins over Kimberly, SPASH, and University School of Milwaukee, the team had a fun season.

Achieving all-conference honors were:

  • Honorable Mention: Jon Holzbach; Grant Shilbauer
