Triton of the Week - Mary Cortez-Aguilar
Mary Cortez-Aguilar, NDA junior, has been chosen as Triton of the Week for March 19, 2018. Mary is described by her teachers as a dedicated student and a great example of how hard work, determination, and motivation can open up doors of opportunity. Mary is active at International Congregation, her church, and is a member of the NDA cross country team.
In addition, Mary was chosen as the speaker for Fund the Future at Tritonfest. Speaking about her journey to becoming a student at NDA, her story helped NDA raise a stellar $53,835 toward tuition grants for NDA students.
"Mary's story is one of hard work and dedication," said Kimberly Uelmen, Admissions & Marketing/Communications Coordinator at NDA. "When I met Mary prior to Tritonfest, I knew that I was in the midst of someone special. Mary's dedication and passion for learning is something that we all should aspire to attain."
Ms. Uelmen, Mary Cortez-Aguilar, and Mr. Browne
Mary's passion for faith, community, and people have continued to blossom. She has been accepted into the SNC Medical College of Wisconsin Summer Medical Academy, the UWGB Life's A Lab camp, and the CNA program at NWTC, placing her on the first step to accomplishing her goal of becoming an oncologist.
Mary's sister Vanessa has followed in Mary's footsteps as a freshman at NDA. Mary is a true example of whom we hope an NDA student will be. Congratulations, Mary Cortez-Aguilar, for becoming the recipient of the Triton of the Week award!
