Triton of the Week - Rachel Stover
Rachel Stover, NDA junior, is the recipient of this week's Triton of the Week Award. Rachel was nominated by NDA 37-year veteran art teacher Mrs. Barb Brandtner.
Pictured are Fr. Brad Vanden Branden, O.Praem., Mr. Browne, Rachel Stover, Mr. Shaw, and Mr. Masarik.
In her recommendation, Mrs Brandtner said, "When I read Kevin Shaw's email about recognizing a student, I thought of one student in particular who seeks knowledge, exercises reason, and lives the gospel. That person is Rachel Stover.
"Rachel is an IB Visual Art candidate who is very generous with her talent within our school community. She has shared her artistic talent whenever asked (Fall Fest logo, family portraits, pet portraits, etc.) and she does it with a smile.
"Rachel also has pursued involvement in the Greater Green Bay Area and beyond by participating in activities such as the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. poster contest recipient, Memory Project, and the Artstreet logo competition. She pursues excellence in all of her artworks.
"Rachel is a "behind-the-scene" type of person. She does not seek the spotlight, but works so that others may enjoy it. It is a beautiful thing to see a young person share a God-given talent in ways to be of service in enriching the lives of those around her. In my opinion, she truly demonstrates the values we seek to live by."
At NDA, Rachel has achieved the high honor roll each year and is a member of the National Honor Society. She is a member of the Spanish Club Board, serves as a Student Ambassador, and has accumulated 95 hours of school and community service. She has also submitted her art work in the Congressional Art Contest two times during her high school career.
In the future, she plans to attend college to focus on utilizing her art skills and passions in a field such as interior design.
Congratulations to Rachel on her selection as the Triton of the Week for January 2, 2018!
