Dave was born in Green Bay on April 16, 1948 to Bernard and Marian Schuette. Dave graduated from Premontre High School in 1966 and was sent to Vietnam as part of the Supply Division, DET CHU LAI Base, Naval Support DANANG, USNAVFORV, United States Navy.
On February 10, 1970, Petty Officer 3rd Class David Schuette was a passenger in a U.S. Army helicopter to Da Nang from Chu Lai, RVN, when a tail rotor malfunction caused the aircraft to crash, killing him and eleven others. He was 21 years old.
