President Search Update

Dear Friends of Notre Dame Academy:

We hope you are all doing well and as excited as we are to be moving into the upcoming holiday season. As we move into November, we look ahead to Thanksgiving and reflect on all we have to be thankful for. Notre Dame Academy is having a great school year, with many academic and extracurricular successes. In addition, the recent celebration of All Saints Day was a wonderful way to gather our school community together again to share in our faith. We are very blessed and thankful to have such a strong and active school community!

We would like to take a moment of your time to update you on the progress of the search for the next president of Notre Dame Academy.

We are pleased to report that we have had a very successful start to the president search because of all of you. We are also right on schedule with our plans. On Sept. 9 and 10, Bob Regan and Karen Whitaker, our Carney Sandoe & Associates Search Consultants, visited NDA to speak with representatives from all of our constituencies. During the two-day visit, the consultants met with 75 members of our community to understand our strengths, challenges, and opportunities for growth. We are so thankful to everyone in the Notre Dame Academy community who took the time to meet with Bob and Karen.

In addition to the constituent meetings, a President Search Community Survey was distributed to gain feedback from the Notre Dame Academy community on school priorities and priorities for the new president. Our consultants were notably impressed by the number of participants who completed the community survey, with 602 members of the NDA community taking part. Alumnae represented the largest response cohort at 305. The survey results were a vital piece in helping Carney and Sandoe & Associates and the search committee learn more about what our community is seeking in the next leader of Notre Dame Academy.

Leveraging feedback gained from the site visit and survey results, Carney Sandoe & Associates in collaboration with the Search Committee, created a "Position Description" for our next president. Please select the link to view this document, which was sent to over 8,000 individuals to aid in soliciting candidates between now and January 2020.

In addition to providing a comprehensive overview of NDA, the last three pages crystallize "Opportunities and Challenges" and "Desired Qualities and Qualifications" -- insights gleaned from all our constituencies during the CS&A site visit and Community Survey. The application requirements are also provided with a request that materials be sent to Bob and Karen.

Our search consultants continue to invite your nominations for candidates you feel may be appropriate for president of Notre Dame Academy. Please forward the link to anyone you feel may be an appropriate candidate for our next president: https://www.carneysandoe.com/assets/NDA-9.24.pdf

Once we have a pool of finalists, the Search Committee will begin the process of setting up dates for visits so that members of our community can have the opportunity to meet with the candidates.

Please be assured of our excellent progress to date; we are well underway and incredibly confident about our next steps. Our sincere thanks to all of you who have so enthusiastically participated in this pivotal moment in NDA history. The future of Notre Dame Academy remains bright.

Please contact us with any questions. Our best wishes for the upcoming holiday season!

Sincerely,
