11.3.22 Athletic Updates
Boys & Girls Cross Country - Not only was it a beautiful day outside at the Ridges Golf Course in Wisconsin Rapids, it was an even better sight on the podiums of the Cross Country State Championships when the teams finished.
The Notre Dame Academy Boys Cross Country Team finished with an incredible 81 points, while the second place team had 115. The Tritons brought home the 38th State Championship in School history. Senior Isaac Nowak lead the Tritons with a 4th place overall finish, Senior Joseph Stumpf finished 20th overall, Junior Braeden Tilot finished 25th, Freshman Joseph Hunt finished 27th, Senior Jackson Fogarty finished 52nd, Junior Bryce Hawley 58, and Senior Federrico Auricchio finised 97th.
The Girls Cross Country Team also made the podium with a 3rd Place overall finish at the State Meet. Sophomore Lauren Carlton lead the way for the Tritons with a 32nd place finish, Sophomore Kinsey Gallagher finished 36th, Junior Zita Lulloff finished 57th, Freshman Monika Stoik finished in 63rd, Junior Ella Capomaccio finished 76th, Junior Camille Broullire finished 87th and Sophomore Mia Miller finished 91st.
Congratulations to both teams a great finishes at the State Championships!

Boys Soccer - The Notre Dame Academy Boys Soccer team is going back to the State Tournament for the 3rd year in a row, after a dramatic finish in overtime, the Tritons won the Sectional Championship.
The Boys went down early in the first half and trailed 1-0 at halftime. Early in the 2nd half a penalty on Plymouth in the box set up a penalty kick for Emmett Lawton who tied the game with 34 minutes to go in the game. The game ended with a 1-1 forcing overtime. One minute into the overtime, the Tritons put pressure on the offensive side and Lawton scored again. They never looked back and NDA defeated Plymouth 2-1 setting up another trip to State.
The Tritons will play Rhinelander at 4:30 p.m., on Friday, November 4 at Uihlein Soccer Park in Milwaukee. If the Tritons were to prevail, they would play on Saturday night at 7 p.m. in the State Championship game.

Football - The Notre Dame Academy Football team entered the playoffs as the #7 seed in their bracket. In Level One, they took down the #2 Seed Reedsburg setting up a rematch of their conference opponent the #3 seed Menasha who defeated the Tritons in week 7 in the regular season 28-21.
The Tritons did not waste anytime, forcing a 3 and out on Menasha's opening drive, they drove the field and Christian Collins took it into the end zone, the Tritons lead 6-0 in the first quarter. An interception by Joey Hoerning gave the Tritons the ball back and Ian Blom took the ball 80 yards putting the Tritons up 13-0 at halftime. Both teams went back and forth with scoring throughout the second half with a defensive touchdown by Stanley Smith, and another interception by Hoerning, and another touchdown by Christian Collins the score was 26-21 with 3 minutes to go in the 4th quarter. The defense held strong in the final minutes leading the Tritons to the win.
NDA now travels to West Salem this Friday, November 2 at 7 p.m. Tickets can be purchased at the gate.
