Dear NDA Families,
With this year looking so different, The Konop Companies would like to pass along some important information about food service for the foreseeable future. Students will be allowed to come into the café, but the Konop staff will be serving the food. We have eliminated the opportunity for self-service.
Lunch will be served in the classrooms and will be picked up by two representatives from each advisory room, eliminating crowds in the café. We will have them labeled and everything ready. There will be hot and cold options available every day. After students are finished with lunch, we are asking that everything be put out in the hallway and we will come around and pick everything up. I have talked with maintenance and we think that is the best plan so garbage does not pile up in the classrooms.
The cafeteria will be open from 7:30 - 8:00 a.m. We will have breakfast options available, but on a scaled back version from what we are all used to. We have eliminated all self-service options. Anyone that comes down, will tell us what they would like and we will hand it to you. We will also be open for study halls that are before lunch service. Just like in the past, we will have the teachers take attendance, and then have a 5-minute time frame when we are open to allow them to come in and purchase items. After that time, we will shut the gates and they are not allowed to enter after that.
Ordering and paying for purchases will be much different this year as well. We highly recommend that each student have money on the student ID. Money on the ID is only allowed for purchases in the café and can be deposited using www.myschoolbucks.com or by coming to the café in the morning and handing the money to a Konop employee at the register.
To meet our new time frame for preparing meals, we are requiring that all lunch orders be placed using the digital "Lunch Order Form" located on the Lunch tab of the NDA website at least five business days ahead of time. The deadline to complete the form is 11 p.m. on Sunday nights for the following week. For example, an order for the week of Sept. 28 would need to be placed by Sunday, Sept. 20, at 11 p.m. Menus will be available on NDA’s website under the lunch tab. Orders that are placed with less than a five-day notice may not be honored.
