Varsity Head Dance Team Coach
Notre Dame Academy is looking for a Varsity Head Dance Coach.
- Qualified candidates must have a minimum 3-5 years of coaching experience at the college or Varsity High School level
- Or minimum of 5-7 years Junior Varsity or Middle School head coaching experience.
- Head Varsity Coaching Experience preferred.
- An ideal candidate will focus on Team, Athlete and future development
Team Development
- Coordinate, direct and lead the development and promotion of the Dance Program
- Bring enthusiasm; show a vision to the sport and the ability to motivate athletes
- Carefully organize and facilitate practices with precise goals to improve
- Understand the administrative duties involved with the head coaching position
- Administrative tasks as assigned by the Athletic Director
- Understand the rules and regulations of the WACPC
- Design, organize and establish summer programs
- This person must have strong organizational and communication skills to cultivate a program within and outside the Notre Dame community
Athlete Development
- Assess skills and effectively communicate strengths and areas of improvement
- Organize and schedule practice sessions
- Organize and direct individual and small group practices activities/exercises
- Determine performances based on the team’s capabilities
- Teach the proper techniques of dance and improve the athlete skill set
- Hold a preseason meeting with all student-athletes and parents
- Create a safe environment conducive to learning and appropriate for the physical, social and emotional development of students
- Model good sportsmanship and teach good sportsmanship behavior towards the opposing team, fans, parents, and officials

- Proven ability to inspire and build relationships with fellow coaches on the NDA athletic staff and within the conference
- Exceptional organizational skills
- Ensure proper supply, distribution, collection, cleaning, repair and storage of uniforms and Dance equipment.
- Represent Notre Dame Academy at all Dance meetings and WACPC state association meetings
- Proven record of hiring and developing assistant coaches
- Positively engage with the Athletic Director and project a positive image of the school
- Strong communicator with not only athletes and parents but with the Administration and Athletic Department staff
- Ability to systemize communication, process, culture for others to follow within the program
- Proven ability to motivate and engage parent volunteers
- Be able to effectively and quickly be able to make decisions under pressure
- Finally, candidates must complete necessary criminal background and Virtus Training prior to the start of their season
