Notre Dame Academy announces 24 hours of Adoration and prayer for peace within its chapel.

“The whole idea of compassion is based on a keen awareness of the interdependence of all living beings, which are all part of one another, and all involved in one another.” ~ Thomas Merton (Trappist Monk)

Notre Dame Academy announces 24 hours of Prayer: We need YOUR HELP

Today we ask not for a donation, nor for boots, food or diapers, but to commit to praying for those who are suffering in Ukraine and throughout the world….and especially the children.

Over the past several weeks we have all seen the images from Ukraine.  We have all heard of the refugees, the tragedy and the innocent victims.  As a community we have responded with generous donations of material goods.

We have heard from our students at Notre Dame who have family in Ukraine and Russia, and despite the efforts of so many, the suffering continues.

“How can I, how can we, go about our daily lives all the while a war is raging? What can we do in the face of such violence?”

Jesus taught us that we should respond to the diabolic senselessness of violence with the weapon of God, prayer.

On Friday, April 8, Notre Dame Academy is opening the doors of its chapel for 24 Hours of Prayer and Adoration for Peace in the world and especially Ukraine.  Beginning at 7:20 a.m. on Friday, April 8, and extending to Saturday morning, April 9 at 8 a.m. we are asking all members of our community…. students, teachers, staff, alumni and friends of your family to set aside time to specifically visit our chapel and pray for conversion of those making war, for the victims, for wisdom, for peace, and especially for the children.

Today we ask not for a donation, nor for boots, food or diapers, but to commit to praying for those who are suffering. In solidarity with our brothers and sisters, their pain is our pain, their suffering, our suffering, their tragedy, our tragedy.
